20th Annual Ocean to Bay Bike Tour
Date: April 18, 2009

Organization Presenting Event: Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce

Where:  Bike Tour starts in downtown Bethany Beach

Event Description: Riders can choose a 20-, 35- or 50-mile route through The Quiet Resorts. Close to 500 cyclists, serious and amateur, visit our area for this event. Click here for more information or to register.

Beauty and the Beast, Jr.

Child Resource Expo
Date: April 25, 2009, 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Where:  Frankford Volunteer Fire Company

Event Description: Parents come get information from local agencies that can make being a parent easier! Child Identification Kits, Child Disability Watch, Infant Eye Program with Halpern Eye Associates, SPCA, Salisbury Zoo, Parents As Teachers and many more! And for the kids there will be child identification kits, a visit from McGruff the Crime Dog, face painting and fire engine rides.

Bethany Beach Breast Cancer 5K Fun Run & 3K Walk

Event Description: Please Join Tidewater Realty for their First Annual Bethany Beach Breast Cancer 5K Fun Run & 3K Walk. 1st Millville by the Sea 5K Dash

Event Description: Millville by the Sea is proud to host its first 5K Dash Run/Walk to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. All ages welcome.

3rd Ed Dean Memorial 4 Miler

Where:  Magnolia's Restaurant, 30415 Cedar Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE

Event Description: 4 Mile run and 1 mile walk in memory of lifeguard and friend Ed Dean. The run will take place through a scenic course through Fresh Pond; Delaware Seashore State Park. T-Shirts guaranteed to the first 150 registered, 2 water stop, post-race party & award ceremony hosted by Magnolia’s. Awards will be presented in eight age groups.

31st Annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival

Event Description: Delmarva’s premier fine art event. More than 100 fine artists display and sell their work against a backdrop of sun, sand and surf. Live music and a silent auction add to the fun of this juried show. Admission is free.

26th Annual Make-A-Wish® Triathlon at Sea Colony

2nd Annual Quiet Resorts Fall Birding Weekend
Date: October 16-18, 2009

Where:  Various trip venues throughout The Quiet Resorts

Event Description: Get ready for a weekend of hiking, paddling, sighting and camaraderie. Guided tours throughout The Quiet Resorts give you the opportunity for sightings of many species of migratory and indigenous birds. Online registration will open in August.

7th Mariner's Bethel m / 5k Trail Run (Assawoman Wildlife Refuge)
Date: Sunday, November 1, 2009, 1:00 p.m.

Where:  Assawoman Wildlife Refuge - Camp Barnes, Bayard, DE

Event Description: One of the finest events on Delmarva. A beautiful trail run through country roads, dirt roads, grass, & trail. A taste of it all in this event for a great cause supporting Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church. 7M /5K run and 1m / 3m walk included. Water stops and lunch for all runners and walkers. Lunch also available to non-participants (adults $3 and children $2)

Cost: $20 - Pre-Registration Fee ($10 for children 12 & under) & $25 Race Day ($12 for children 12 & under)
